Thanks to the holiday break, I’ve been enjoying my week off of work. Taurin got me a sound system for an early Christmas gift, so I’ve been blasting music and cleaning my place. I rearranged some furniture as well. Here are some self-portraits from my living room!
These wool shoes from Hongkong are so comfortable
A couple people have asked me what I do for living. Well, I’m a full-time teacher! I work at a big international school in Shanghai owned by the Chinese government. Last week we had a winter talent show, and it was really adorable. I’m still not sure how I feel about the bright red backdrop..
On Monday my co-workers and I headed to the center to see Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker performed by a local ballet troupe. They also had a bright backdrop. I suppose red is a lucky color!

December 24, 2010 at 4:53 amInstead of seeing the Nutcracker with my family I tried to go to the Bull Run Festival of Lights, but the traffic was backed up miles and miles so we went to a crazy lit up house instead, and they had literally a hundred vintage plastic light-up santas in the front yard with a big sign above them that said "Santa Town." It was weird. Anyway, still loving the last photo.

December 24, 2010 at 9:00 amThe Nutcracker with the red backdrop is such an interesting twist! You always see an icy/blue backdrop. Also, I have been looking for shoes like your black ones forever! They seem comfortable but still have a little bit of a wedge heel that isn't like "omg wedge heel"–I like that its subtle 🙂
