I spent my lunch break gathering supplies for my little indoor garden. I loved seeing all the potted plants and flowers in bloom!
I planted sweet basil, arugula, and parsley in tiny prepared pots, and set them on my windowsill. I can’t wait to see them sprout!
Just in time for spring gardening season, Barbara sent me some squash seeds. I love how everything in her letter is color-coordinated!
She included some small yellow plant markers! I’ll be planting her squash seeds in my family’s Virginia home.
Other than starting a garden, I’ve been baking up a storm! I love having the Milk Bar recipe book handy. This is the highly addictive”crack pie” or chess pie. It tastes like a buttery pecan pie without the pecans!
Banana cream pie with dark chocolate cookie crust.
Just from last evening (which has already been gobbled up by good friends): fluffy carrot cake with cream cheese frosting!
P.S. Marlous wrote a sweet post about a letter I wrote her recently. Isn’t her cat adorable?

April 8, 2012 at 11:37 amGood luck with growing your seeds! I started growing a thyme plant and it took forever to grow. Though it smells just wonderful now and so good with some roast potatoes. Love the look of that carrot cake. SO YUM!

April 11, 2012 at 10:11 amYes, I wouldn’t know what to do with Chives either other than make prawn and chive dumplings! Also…the job is with an American company but on a day to day basis everyone speaks cantonese!

Bananas make me think of my mom – her favorite fruit, and therefore favorite dessert flavor 🙂

April 9, 2012 at 1:27 pmI’ve actually wanted to start a little indoor herb garden myself for a while now. I was thinking about growing some herbs in old tea tins to add a little added touch. Good luck with yours! It will be nice to see your results later; perhaps I will blog about mine too at some point, if I finally find the time to start one 🙂
