China Food

This week in review

My week began with an exhausting day of work, classes, and the sad news about my grandpa. I felt so far away from everyone and thought this week was doomed for sure, but it really wasn’t so bad after all!

I put on my new Uniqlo striped dress in the morning for work and found a surprise on my desk. My coworkers got me the happiest bouquet of sunflowers and gerber daisies. I talked to Zeolite for a bit, who’s been helping me get excited about my potential adventures and projects. Taurin’s been taking me to eat at only the most delicious restaurants every evening. I’m a lucky girl with some wonderful people in my life.

I know my grandpa would also want all of us to remember him fondly and focus on living the lives that we have now.

A 50’s Hong Kong style diner–perfect for people who love late night good eats!

Fried instant noodles with seafood and XO sauce

Creamy cantonese curry with beef and potatoes

Club sandwich with a thick soft omelet

Warm pineapple bun with butter slowly melting in the center

P.S. Thank you!

I think I may have some new readers, and I’d love to get to know you better.

Where are you from? What always cheers you up when you get the blues?

Don’t hesitate to introduce yourself! I always respond to every comment. :]

I only really got to know my grandpa when he came to live in Virginia for a bit (before he decided he didn’t like the suburbs much…he’s a city man!). As for access to blogs, ohh China can’t stop us from reading! I can give you better detail so just send me an e-mail (collectingmaps@gmail.com) sometime before you head over to Beijing. πŸ™‚

Your food descriptions are the best. I always get so stoked about the future when I talk about potential projects with you! Staying positive + working hard can’t go wrong, I think.

I’ve noticed your comments on my blog, which led me over to your blog =] I’m from Virginia, currently residing in Korea, and I have a playlist of super cheerful songs and a short list of movies that keep me from despairing about life too much.

I am sorry for your grandpa, but it was very nice of your colleagues to give your flowers, it can cheer up a person that’s for sure. Whenever I feels down I try to listen to music I adore or talk with someone I love.

I am so sorry about your grandpa. <3

Love the dress on you; so chic.

I'm Eileen. I grew up in New England. I'm half latina from my mother's side. I grew up without her. Nothing special.
