Daily Life Mexico Photos Trips & Travels

Summer talks & photos from a pulqueria in Xochimilco

When I first arrived in Mexico, it was still snowing back home in Washington D.C. My wardrobe here is tiny and mostly black/gray/white basics. I think I’m (finally) going thrifting with some friends on Tuesday. I can’t wait to wear more colors! Here is one self-portrait I took at my apartment this morning and some photos from Xochimilco and a pulqueria (pulque is the drink of the gods!).

Classes were canceled today and Mexico played South Africa this morning. Even the tiny paper store was full of people stopping by the watch the game. TGIF! It’s Carlos’ last weekend in town and Taurin is playing an ambient set tonight. I’m thinking of baking a flan chocolate cake (chocolate cake with flan baked on top and covered in cajeta, sweetened caramelized goat’s milk). I think it’s going to be a good weekend..

A VERY IMPORTANT EDIT:

You got such a good photo of the cowboy hat man in the Pulqueria! Remember how Chris projectile vomited in the middle of the street? And that old man slowly cleaned it up with a water bottle? Dangg. Estoy bien pulque.

wandered over here from a benign facehunter comment that asked that guy to come to df. i was like YES sister. this overlooked city is so, so damn crazy, beautiful, and diversely human, huh??! happy to see you've sought it out, for reasons i can only imagine were similar to my own. i'm not there anymore but i will be back and maybe get in touch with you at some point. live yer life, with love n luck…

    Oh good I'm glad!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm in love with this journey you've created for your self. I think more people need to follow your foot steps. We really can loose are elf in this work society we live in, and forget what's really important. Cheers…I can't wait to see what your life has next for you. Alaska maybe?
