Happy New Year!

We spent New Years Eve at the Minsheng Art Museum drinking red wine with good friends and watching almost all 30 minutes of Der Lauf der Dinge. I’ll be doing an art review of the NYE show for Bound Editorial, a Shanghai-based literary webzine edited by my good friend Hunter. If you’re curious, here’s my latest art review of Zhou Yilun’s solo show at the Andrew James Art Gallery.

Our first photo of the year!

It’s hard to believe I celebrated 2010 in D.C. deathly ill at the Brightest Young Things party. I had only just graduated college with a degree in Literary & Cultural Studies and Sociology. I had no idea what to do with my year/life. By late February I was living in Mexico City and by March I found a home at la casa de Lázaro Valiente (take a look at the his sound experiment video above). Now I’m here in Shanghai.

So this is the beginning of the year of the rabbit. I am not quite sure where I’ll be once my contract ends in June. My nomadic tendencies are already kicking in. 2011 will be filled with unexpected adventures, for sure.

Happy New Year, everyone!

I love the ones of you and Taurin! And the candles. Looks like your new year was sweet. It's hard for ME to believe that this time last year, I was sending you torn up emails about being lost in Tokyo. I think this year will be good.

i love this post! it sounds like your year WAS quite adventurous! it's so inspiring. as i am nearing the end of my college career, i've been doing tons of soul searching and asking myself where i want to be after graduation and i am drawing a blank — but also opening myself up to the idea of experiencing great adventures like you have. we are young, we are alive, and this is the perfect time to explore, be bold, take risks! i think everything will pan out in the end if we live with no regrets.

also – JESUS i just sound so cheesy. but REALLY.

Dang Sewon, you're living the dream! Post grad and traversing the world? Not too shabby. Were you born year of the dragon? I think thats 1988 babies–I wonder when that year will be up again.
