“Frühjahrsmüdigkeit”

Shanghai feels brand new–the spring flowers are in full bloom, and the weatherman says it was 84°F yesterday. I’ve been leaving my apartment windows wide open, drinking plenty of iced bubble milk tea, and going on long walks around the city.

Taurin is collecting field recordings of older Shanghainese residents singing revolution tunes at public parks (or doing pull-ups). Meanwhile, I’m keeping my eyes out for a sturdy Chinese vintage camera.

For some odd reason I started off the week with the bad kind of “spring fever,” or what the Germans call “Frühjahrsmüdigkeit.” After surviving my day in complete daze, I was fast asleep by 9:30 PM.

With plenty of hot tea and fresh fruits, I hope I’m back on my feet by this weekend.

Actually, a three-day weekend is coming up, and I am proud to announce that I have absolutely nothing on my agenda! I’ll go on more long walks (maybe searching for that special camera or a good summer dress), and relax.

I always enjoy the way your pictures! A long walk sounds amazing right now, if only the rain would let up here. &I love your crackled nails!

These moments were beautifully captured. What camera do you use? If you have answered this before, I am terribly sorry for my bad memory.

Thank you, Eileen. I’m a big Nikon girl! I brought over my two favorites over to Shanghai: Nikon D90 and Nikon EM.
