Falling in Love with Where You Are

Untitled

Love is in the air! It’s February and 70 degrees here on the sunny side of the San Francisco Bay.

I spent the last bit of 2014 and early 2015 traveling to and from the East Coast, and up and down the West Coast to spend time with loved ones. When on the road, I like to really focus on where I am. But in those final thirty minutes of the return trip, a sudden realization often hits: I’m finally, almost home.

As someone who’s always readily embraced the first signs of wanderlust, it’s astonishing to realize how much I feel at home here in the Bay Area.

So here’s a little tribute to the mundane and the small joys of daily life:

Aren’t these colors perfect? I have this one hanging up on the livingroom – an adorable woven wall-hanging by my talented friend Jannese of Usagi Por Moi

We got a Vitamix for Christmas, and we’ve been making lots of smoothies lately. This one’s a fig greek yogurt smoothie bowl with blueberries, goji berries, and sunflower seeds.

Whole wheat bread baked by Taurin! I’m planning to bake some sourdough this week, and have my liquid levain in the works.

Oh I love the positive vibes from this post. The smoothie looks incredible and so healthy! Those hanging lightbulbs looks stunning – I would find it hard to resist taking a photo of them too. I really need to make it out to San Francisco one day – everyone I know who has ever visited has said it’s just the best place!
