Daily Life Mexico Photos Trips & Travels

After a long hiatus and a week of traveling in Oaxaca

I didn’t mean to take such a long hiatus! I’ve been on the road exploring Oaxaca and taking a break from my laptop. After a scenic yet exhausting 20-hour bus ride back from Pochutla, I arrived back in Mexico City. I got back on my computer to check what I missed on facebook/blogsphere and the internet suddenly felt like a big city without a map.

On the other hand, traveling without a map can lead to pleasant surprises. And Oaxaca was beautiful. We mostly traveled via microbuses and pick-up trucks. We ate a lot of tamales, learned the traditional method of distilling mezcal, sat by the edge of a cliff and dipped our feet into a natural warm spring, watched epic sunsets every evening, stayed at ecological hand-built adobe houses and grass huts, and got a nice tan (or extremely sunburned).

Here are a few photos for now:

P.S. I’m suffering from the case of monday blues and it’s not even monday anymore! I tried taking a cold shower, gulping black coffee, and going on a walk. Maybe I need to get back into power yoga.

What do you do to shake off the monday blues?

every single word that you wrote filled me with complete jealousy. sounds like you're living the perfect vagabond life. keep at it, and maybe we'll meet somewhere close to the equator one day!

Wow, so beautiful. The longer I look at them, the more jealous I get! I hope to go there soon, maybe in the next 5 years. What a beautiful place!
