Daily Life Mexico Photos Trips & Travels

A good day

And Lot’s wife, of course, was told not to look back where all those people and their homes had been. But she did look back, and I love her for that, because it was so human.
– Excerpt from Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut

It’s semana santa (holy week) here in Mexico and the city is deserted! There are hardly any cars out and everything is closed. I wanted to wake up early and see the reenactments of the crucifixion at Iztapalapa. But it turns out to be not so safe there so I am home drinking ice coffee instead.

This week started out a bit strange. I had nightmares every night and it did not help that it was “that time of the month.” But a little bit of yoga, long walks around Coyoacan with good friends, and coffee date with the boyfriend makes everything better. And I also just heard back from Shanghai and it looks like I’ll be a university professor this fall!

I am feeling positive and excited about now and what is to come. I think today will be a good day.

P.S. I love those sugar candy lamb figurines (yes, they’re edible!)

The second photo, of the guy's fingers adjusting a knob on the synthesizer (?), is really cool! It's so expectant, such a still, simple moment, our eyes are attracted to the source of change.
