I have wonderful BIG news from last week, that I’ve been waiting a little while to tell you!
On a beautiful, sunny day in Brooklyn, Taurin brought me up to our apartment rooftop overlooking the Manhattan skyline. He nervously reached into his pocket and asked me to be his life partner. He had designed a lovely ring featuring both of our birth stones – peridot and diamond. Of course, I said yes!
Then he surprised me once more with a long celebration dinner at the famed wd 50. We were greeted with complimentary glasses of champagne and warm congratulations from the restaurant. We had Wylie Dufresne’s new 13-course tasting menu with the wine pairing. I can hardly remember the rest of the evening!
Bonita nigiri with salsify, seaweed, ponzu, and sesame seeds
Pho gras
Amaro yolk with chicken confit and peas n carrots
Veal brisket with zaatar, plum, and mustard
Sole with black licorice-pil pil, fried green tomato, and fennel
Lamb sweet breads with nasturtium-buttermilk, zucchini, pistachio
Root beer ribs with caraway spaetzle, apricot, and watercress
Jasmine, cucumber, honeydew, chartreuse
Yuzu milk ice with hazelnut, rhubarb, and sorrel
Smores with bitter cocoa, meringue, and black currant

Taurin and I met when we were just teenagers. Six years later, we’re still deeply in love. As you know, I’m constantly on the move. And it’s amazing to have someone even more adventurous and creative next to me, on these journeys near and far. I’m truly excited for our life together!
