In a lot of ways, New York is incredibly comfortable and friendly. Of course, there isn’t an unsurmountable language or cultural barrier, and the city already comes with so many good friends. There is never a lack of delicious food everywhere, and I’m always striving to save room for dessert. I know I’ll be here for awhile, so I’m taking my time getting settled in. I love pursuing new projects and exploring the potential of places/communities/ideas. It’s an exciting time and place to be.

Why not eat cookies for breakfast?
I’m really hooked on greek yogurt with dribbles of honey and a handful of blueberries.
We were in a very long line to see Nicolas Jaar’s 5-hour performance at PS1.
Nina Simone – Feeling good (Nicolas Jaar edit)
Inside a giant dome, I ran into an old Internet friend from nearly a decade ago. And the other day, I was crossing the street in Manhattan and I randomly bumped into a girl I knew back in middle school. How did we even recognize each other? I’ve been unexpectedly encountering people all over the city. New York is really small, isn’t it?
It’s fashion week! I love the Kate Spade bus/pop-up shop.
But honestly, I think I spend more money on food than clothes. Zeolite and I went to get some delicious meatballs at the Meatball Shop the other day. Hers were on a bed of mushroom risotto. Nom!
For dessert, we split the huge ice cream sandwich: homemade caramel ice cream sandwiched between a brownie cookie and a snicker-doodle cookie.
P.S. Who else is in the city? Maybe there should be a little group gathering at a coffeeshop or something!

February 15, 2012 at 3:18 pmThese pictures are amazing. I so want to go back to NY, I spent a short week there a few years ago and it was so much fun but we didn’t do half the things we set out to do! There is always so much going on in that city.

February 16, 2012 at 3:18 amThat’s great that you’re spending a lot of time exploring new things and engaging yourself in bits and bobs. The blueberry and cream cookie looks SO good. (Yummy food in general though!) I’m quite busy with school, but one week in the spring, I agree that we should meet up for coffee or something (: Hope you have a lovely rest of the week! xx
